The Group Executive Director, Gas and Power of the NNPC, Dr David Ige, affirmed this in an interview with its reporter in Abuja, while confirming that the agreement for the development of the evaluated 1,200 km flagship project would be honored soon.

The announcement said that the design would soon be finished to clear path for the contract award.

“The contract has not yet been awarded. We are at present working on the project design which should be completed soon before the award of contract,” the statement revealed.

It expressed that the security challenges in a few parts of the country had never constituted a serious threat to the task.

The bulletin showed that the country had made advances in different gas ventures, including the ongoing expansion of Escravo-Lagos gas pipeline system, which began in 2011.
