2015 Election: Ansar-ud-Deen calls for prayers

An Islamic organisation, Ansar-ud-Deen Society, ADS, has charged Nigerians to pray in lieu of the general elections holding next month in order to ensure national peace, free, fair and credible general elections.

The Islamic organization, who made the call in its Moulud Nabiyi message signed by its Publicity Secretary, Muibideen Adebanjo, in Ibadan, said “As we celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Pbuh), we enjoin Muslims all over the world to observe the occasion with sober reflections in line with the teachings of the prophet.

“We call on all to pray for the nation to have absolute peace; we also enjoin voters to exercise their important civic right peacefully as the elections draw nearer.”

The group also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to fear God and ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible.

They further congratulated Muslims all over the world and dissociated itself from any Islamic group involved in heinous or evil activities targeted at denying the nation peace, and the people, peaceful co-existence.
