2019: Aso Rock Boils As Obasanjo Finally Forms New Party, Nominates Presidential Candidate

Barring any last minute hitch, a new political party would be launched into the already charged Nigerian political turf, as Taiwo Obasanjo, the ex-wife of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has concluded plans to form a new political party named, ‘Abundant Blessing Congress, ABC,’ to challenge the President Muhamamdu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Mrs Taiwo, who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with the Sun Newspaper, dated November 3, said her mission is a “divine assignment from God”.

It was gathered, that the party would be presenting a female contestant come 2019, to challenge the candidacy of President Buhari, and possibly former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Post-Nigeria, could not get the name of the likely female contestant as at press time.

The floating of the party, came barely few weeks when it was alleged that former Vice President, Atiku, and some Governors of the crisis-ridden Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had applied for the registration of a group, Peoples Progressive Movement, PPM, as a political party.

Meanwhile, answering questions from Journalists on why she has decided to float a new political party, Mrs Taiwo said: “I have a divine assignment from God, to come out with something like this. It has a divine agenda.

“What is the divine agenda? What is the agenda?

“It is to create a selfless platform for people to come together, and become the custodian, part and parcel, towards rebuilding this nation.”

She added; “We shouldn’t leave it to only the government of the day to run. It is going to be a kind of shadow government, that will also externalise itself in all that they want to do for the nation.

“The Abundant Blessing Congress, will also be internalizing what they want to do, and that is what we are going to externalize in the nation. That is why I said we shall have a shadow government, because right now, what we have does not make me happy.”
