Abuja Accord: Ekiti APC Speaker’s aides destroy Jonathan posters

About three aides of embattled Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Omirin have been suspected of removing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan campaign posters in Aisegba-Ekiti, Omirin’s home town.

The speaker, who is a member of the opposition party, All Progressives Congress, APC, has been at loggerhead with the ruling party under the governorship of Ayo Fayose.

Speculations abound that the aides were acting on the directive of the Speaker.

This happened barely two days after the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari signed a peace accord on Non-Violence in the coming elections on behalf of his party.

The ruling party, PDP called on the APC to control its members as they had been reported to perpetuate acts that could lead to violence.

The speaker released a statement denying any involvement of his aides in the destruction of the Jonathan campaign poster, despite police investigations indicating otherwise.
