Emerging report revealed that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, his counterpart, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, among other Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have endorsed Sule Lamido for the 2019 Presidency.

Post-Nigeria recalls that Sule Lamido is currently facing multiple corruption charges slammed on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The eleven Governors of the PDP during a meeting at the Delta State Governor’s lodge, in Asaba, made the endorsement.

The Governors were: Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Henry Dickson (Bayelsa), Benedict Ayade (Cross River), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta State), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (Gombe), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), and Darius Ishaku (Taraba), together with the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, led by the National Chairman, Uche Secondus.

The party chiefs were in Asaba for a closed-door meeting, to take a stand on the 2019 elections, and examine the state of the nation.

A source at the closed-door meeting which commenced at about 7pm on Sunday, and lasted for about nine hours at the Delta State Government House Executive Chambers, revealed that the PDP Governors and the NWC collectively agreed to dump Atiku, and form an alliance with the former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, who they described as a true, steadfast, and loyal party man.
