Fuel Scarcity!!! Kachikwu, Baru, On The Hot Seat, As Saraki Takes Major Decision, Senators Cut Short Their Christmas Vacation

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday, has directed the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream, chaired by the Senator representing Zamfara Central, Senator Kabiru Marafa, to cut short their Christmas vacation, and come up with implementable solutions to address the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

Recall, that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and the Petroleum Marketers have been trading blames over the lingering fuel scarcity.

Consequently, Saraki directed Marafa to summon the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, and the NNPC Group   Managing Director, GMD, Maikanti Baru, for an emergency meeting.

Saraki made this known to Newsmen on Thursday, via the Senate’s Facebook and Twitter handles, respectively.

However, arising from the directive, the Committee will meet with the Minister of State for Petroleum, and the GMD of NNPC, on Thursday, 4th January, 2018, by 12 noon, in room 221.

Also, the meeting will be covered live by the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
