Nigerian Police Bans Lawmakers From Entering House Of Assembly Complex, Locks Up The Entire Building Untill Further Notice

Emerging report has revealed that heavily armed Policemen, have sealed the complex of the Kano State House of Assembly.

The armed Policemen were deployed to the House, on Monday morning, to prevent members from gaining access to the Assembly complex.

The deployment of the security men may be connected with a current move to remove the Speaker of the House, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and Principal Officers, by some Lawmakers.

It was learnt that the Speaker, Ata, had ordered for the suspension of all activities in the House untill after the Eid-El Kabir festivity.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Magaji Musa Majia, confirmed deployment of Police to the Assembly complex.

He said: “We deployed our men to the Assembly, to ensure that nobody breaks law and order.

“We need peace in the State, and therefore, we will not allow anybody to tamper with existing peace and harmony being enjoyed by the people in the State.”
