Senate approves Buhari’s request for 15 Special Advisers

The Senate has approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to appoint 15 Special Advisers who will work with him in his Government.

Earlier in the week, Buhari had written to the Red House seeking their approval for the appointments.

In a session presided over by Senate President David Mark, the motion was moved by the Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba and was seconded by Senator Ganiyu Solomon.

While putting the motion to a voice vote, Mark said the President’s request was in line with Section 151 of the 1999 Constitution.

The motion was passed overwhelmingly.
