Checkout This Latest Technology That Makes You Feel Like Flying First Class

Not everyone will fly first class, but you can have a flying experience of a lifetime in these Virgin America Sneakers.

Just when we thought Nike’s ‘self-lacing’ sneakers was 50 shades of cool, Virgin America has proved Nike wrong, by unveiling a pair of sneakers that gives you that experience of flying in one of the airline’s first class cabins, without ever leaving the ground. If this is not cool, then we do no know what is.

The airline teamed with brand agency, ‘Eleven’, to design the sneakers, made of Italian white leather, to match Virgin America’s first class seats.

Designed to incorporate components from Virgin’s first class cabins, the sneakers feature LED mood lighting, a Wi-fi hotspot, a USB port, connected to a three-hour battery, a working airplane belt buckle, for that in-flight feel, and even a tiny LCD display, for watching movies. How cool!!!

Virgin claims they are the only shoes to date, to incorporate these unconventional elements, which are powered by a rechargeable battery.

While these sneakers are all shades of sexy, there is only one pair in the world, and it is being auctioned off for a good cause.

The auction will benefit Soles4Souls, a non-profit organisation, focused on distributing clothing and shoes to impoverished communities. When the auction ends on Sunday, 23rd October, 2016, all proceeds raised will be donated to Soles4Souls, a non-profit charity, that aims to fight poverty, by distributing shoes and clothing.

The shoes will be delivered to the highest bidder, in a custom plexi-glass display case, with LED lighting

Mike McKay, Chief Creative Officer at Eleven, while explaining the reason for the creation, said: “Virgin America fliers are fashionable, sophisticated, and almost impossible to reach with traditional advertising; but we knew sneaker trends were very popular with our target audience.

“So we wanted to showcase the airline’s features in a unique way – so our target would actually take notice.”

Our point of view

The question now is, if these shoes were not on auction, would you pay $10,000, approximately N4,800,000 for them?
