Commotion!!! Coup Plot Averted, Houses Burnt Down As Top APC Governor Escapes Death

‎In what many have described as a civilian coup, the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has on Wednesday, December 21, narrated how his convoy was attacked in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of the State, during a State Council Security Meeting.

‎Recall, that Kaduna in recent times has been enmeshed with killings, which prompted the State Government to impose a 24-hour curfew in 3 Local Government Areas.

El-Rufai, who stated this in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Samuel Aruwan, said he was in Kafanchan with his entourage, to hold the State Council Security Meeting, when 3 women led protesters to ask him certain questions.

He said, “I listened to three of the women who led the protesters as they asked me questions. I answered them, and even invited them to a larger meeting, but they went on rampage, and burnt the residence of the Local Government Chairman.”

The Governor, confirmed that he and his entourage were pelted with stones, and that window glasses of some of the vehicles were broken, after he addressed some demonstrators.

The development which degenerated further, led to the smashing of several other vehicles, houses burnt, as he (El-Rufai), was whisked away through a different route from the one he intended using, to escape, as some youths had blocked the road.

‎Meanwhile, the Governor, had appealed to its citizens not to respond to the treatment meted to him by the protesters in Kafanchan, saying he regarded it as part of the burden of leadership.
