EDITOR’S DESK: President Muhammadu Buhari, Give The Igbos Juicy Positions, Show Them Love, Or Let Them GO!!!, By Salisu Abdulai

Flashback to 2014/2015, just before the Presidential election, the All Progressives Congress, APC, dressed our dear President, Muhammadu Buhari, who was at the time the Presidential candidate of the party, in different traditional attires, representing the major regions in Nigeria, as part of their campaign, to promote the unity of Nigeria through Mr. Buhari, if voted into office.

Fast forward two years later, we are experiencing a major division, which Nigerians have not witnessed in years.

Buhari had promised an all-inclusive government, where every region would feel included as part of the decision makers, and a voice that matters in running the internal affairs of the country.

Without focusing much on the recent violent clashes in the South-East this past week, between the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by its Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and the Federal Government unleashing the Nigeria Military on the region, in order to restore peace back to the communities affected, through the use of force, rather than dialogue, which would have been expected in a developing country like Nigeria, I would like to state that the people of the South-East have a genuine cry, but may have gone about it the very wrong way.

As the Editor of Post-Nigeria, I read the comments on the social media all the time, and I see some Northerners display some deep hatred for the Igbos, but at the same time, they clamour for a one Nigeria, and do not want the Igbos to go and form their own nation.

With the lopsided way in which the Buhari-led administration has been run, since coming into power in 2015; what do you expect of a people who feel totally neglected in a country which they call their own? A people who are told out-rightly that they would never produce a President of this great nation; then what business do they have being part of Nigeria?

The President in making vital appointments, totally disregards the entire region, yet he campaigned and promised an all-inclusive government, where everyone would feel like they matter; what do you expect these people to do? Why do you force them to stay, when from your actions and inactions, you clearly do not like them? Why would you want to be in a marriage with a spouse who you do not pay any attention to; you do not show any iota of love to, but yet you refuse to sign the divorce papers, when they get fed up and file for a divorce? Oh, could it be that there is something which this particular region actually contributes to the entire nation, that you cannot afford to do without if they leave? There must be something!!!

Who do you want as Nigeria's 2019 President???

At this point, I dare to say to Mr. President, and the entire North, if you would not give the Igbos juicy positions in the Federal Government, make them feel loved, dialogue with them, treat them like human beings, rather than mere animals, or a people that do not matter, then please let them go!!! That is the only fair thing to do. I believe that is the fair thing to do.

I am not against a one Nigeria, but we should not just preach the message of a one Nigeria with our words, but mostly with our actions, because an action always speaks louder than a word.

God bless Nigeria.
