EFCC detained lawyer wins APC House of Reps primaries

According to a report by online news aggregator Sahara reporters, a lawyer that was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for fraud has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary election in the Isoko Federal Constituency of Delta State.

Daniel Oyewo who defeated U.S. based college professor and lawyer, Ogaga Ifowodo by a wide margin, was brought into the primaries venue by policemen and plain clothes security personnel.

Mr. Ifowodo had previously gone through the painstaking task of writing organizations, requesting for donations to his campaign.

An EFCC source told Sahara reporters that Mr. Oyewo was asked to report back to Lagos today after being released on Friday.

Questions are being raised as to why he was still allowed to participate in the APC primaries with an open EFCC investigation against him.
