EXCLUSIVE: After NEPA, Na God!!! Nobody Can Stop Us, Pay Your Light Bill, Or We Throw The Entire Nation Into Darkness

Emerging report reaching Post-Nigeria, on Thursday morning, revealed that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, Suleja branch, are over billing electricity consumers, despite allegations that light is hardly seen for weeks.

A consumer who spoke exclusively to Post-Nigeria, stated that his house does not have a meter, leaving him at the mercy of officials of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, to work out how much he pays every month, based on their imaginary calculations of his consumption.

He added that, all effort to buy a meter has proven abortive, after paying for it for more than six months now.

He revealed that he was being charged N6, 000 a month, for a room apartment, but in May, 2017, the rate was hiked to over N8, 000.

“I was truly baffled, because that was a month we experienced a horrible power supply. So, I expected that the rational thing to do, was to review the bill downwards”, he said.

He stated that when he contested the bill at the electricity company’s office in his neighbourhood, he was told that: “After NEPA, na God, you have to pay, or we disconnect your light. Nobody can stop us. We have the capacity to throw the entire nation into darkness.”

Post-Nigeria’s further inquiry, revealed that the AEDC, Suleja branch, has been hoarding the metres that are meant to be distributed.

There is an on-going passionate plea to residents, to carry out a non-violent protest against the Power ‘Holding’ Company of Nigeria, by stop paying electricity bills, until there is a major improvement in the power sector.
