Fashion Meets Tech: Checkout What Went Down At Spice TV’s Happy Hour Series
When fashion meets tech, it is a match made in heaven. This was the scenario when Spice TV brought together the finest in the fashion and technology industry, for the FashionXTech Networking Event, as part of its happy Hour Series, to discuss the need and importance of integrating technology into the fashion industry, for a seamless and happy industry.
Spice TV, is a fashion and lifestyle media company, dedicated to telling the stories of Africa’s creative sector.
The historic event which took place recently at BL Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos, featured five innovative startup companies and entrepreneurs, using technology to redefine the fashion industry, as they presented their products and services.
It was organised by SPICE TV and TechCabal, in conjunction with Nairabox, Printivo, Chivas and Complete Fashion, and a few fashion cool kids showed up too, not to forget models also gave their professional advice, in order to boost the fashion industry.
There was also a panel session, with brands operating in the fashion and technology industries, which included: Damilola Jegede from NairaBox, Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture, Ikenna Okonkwo of Heels.com.ng, and Bisola Adeniyi of Lady Biba.
The panel session was moderated by TechCabal, and succeeded in delivering forward thinking conversations, on how to develop products in the fashion and technology industries.
This was followed by a presentation from the five start-ups, who had successfully integrated tech into their business model. They later pitched their business ideas to the crowd.
For example Haute, an app that helps tailors and fashion designers organise their creative process, and manage customer information, was presented to the crowd.
The high point of the event, was that guests mingled, and networked, as they sipped on drinks provided by Chivas, and were gifted with special discounts from Nairabox and Privinto.
