I have made my grievances known to the APC – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has gone on record to claim that his faction has been sidelined from the campaigns of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and other activities of the party which has made him feel neglected as a party member.

He made this claim in confirmation to the speculations that he is not in support of the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, rtd.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa yesterday, he said he had not been invited to the APC presidential campaign rallies and would not attend any party function if he is not duly invited.

Atiku attested to the fact that there are irregularities in the APC and the system adopted by the campaign team of General Buhari but denied plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, just yet.

However, his choice of words and body language puts a clause to where his loyalty stands, he said so long as he has not been formally invited for party campaigns as it had been in the time of the late Shehu Yar’Adua, Abiola and Obasanjo, he would not participate.

The Former Vice President who is not a lightweight politician lamented on the nonchalant attitude of the Director General of Buhari campaign organisation, Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Atiku, who lost out at the APC primaries to Buhari is yet to be regarded as a party asset by the APC, said he has tried to relate his displeasure on the party strategy to Amaechi and will not attend any party campaign if he is not invited.
