IBB, Kalu hold closed-door meeting

Former Abia State Governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu arrived at the Hilltop resident of the former leader Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at about 2pm yesterday to pay a courtesy visit to discuss issues regarding the upcoming general elections.

While predicting the outcome of the 2015 elections, he said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would win the Presidential election in the forthcoming general elections, but may not form majority at the National Assembly to win some states.

Orji stated that the elder statesmen in Nigeria are not respecting themselves as they suppose, but he went ahead to exonerate General Babangida and Abubakar Abdulsalami, stating that they are outstanding elder statesmen.

Kalu declared, “I share the same view with President Jonathan that some few senior citizens who should be respecting themselves are not respecting themselves. But those statesmen definitely do not include General Babangida, General Abdulsalami, Chief Shonekan and Alhaji Shagari.”

He decried that the heating up of the polity by politicians and their supporters.MINA-2

“The polity is being heated strongly and politicians need to calm down and stop heating the polity of the country.

“Where people come out openly to abuse themselves is out of fashion. Those contesting elections should be patient with other Nigerians.”
