Ignore criticisms and remain committed, former Military Administrator tells Fayose

Former military governor of the old Western State, Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd.) has advised the Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, not to mind those he described as fault-finders in implementing policies as long as they would bring development to the people of the state.

According to a ThisDay report, Adebayo urged the governor to remain committed to his polices despite criticisms, as long as they are meant to improve the living standards of the people.

The former military governor said all these when Fayose visited his Iyin-Ekiti country home on Tuesday.

He also reminded that criticisms from the people remains a constant for government policies, but the leader must remain firm and decisive in implementing his policies.

Adebayo, the father of the first civilian governor of the state, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, also called on the people of the state to sincerely support their leaders and government in the overall interest of the populace.

“My house is for everybody. If you are doing well, as I see myself as a father to all. As the Military Governor of the old Western State, I did my best for the Ekiti people.

“I was lucky that I had the opportunity to serve Ekiti people. I was able to bring water, schools and hospitals to my people as governor. Since Ekiti State was created, the governors have been doing their best.

“What we need now is to generate more money for the setting up industries. Forget what people say about what you do as governor as long as you are doing the right things.

“Ekiti people should support their government. With the sincere support of the people, then those leading them will be able to do more,” he said.
