Jonathan impeachment move was a facade, we were angry – APC REP

According to the Chairman, House of Representative committee on communications, Hon Oyetunji Ojo, the impeachment threats against the President by the members of the National Assembly have been dismissed and are no longer an issue.

This statement was made by the All Progressive Congress APC, House Member Ojo, at the Ekiti Central II federal constituency in Aramoko Ekiti yesterday, saying that the impeachment move was only a reaction to the invading of the National Assembly by Security Operatives of recent which warranted the House members to scale the gate of the House of Assembly.

He said “To be honest with you, although we were recalled to the House that day because of the emergency situation in the North-East, we have only sat once since the recess, the impeachment notice was signed in anger by us. You remember that we were tear-gassed that day, both members of the two chambers”

He further stated that “The issue has gone beyond the House only; it now concerns the survival of our democracy. The impeachment notice was signed by members, we will look into it, but to the best of my knowledge, I do not think there is a serious level of impeachment of the President now, until we resume at the House and hold next session.”
