Mammoth crowd welcomes Jonathan to Kaduna

President Goodluck Jonathan was on Saturday received by a mammoth crowd in Kaduna state.

The President is visiting the State as part of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential campaign tour.

The PDP rally which held at the 30,000 capacity Ahmadu Bello Stadium in the State capital, boasted a mammoth crowd that filled the venue to capacity, with more people still trying to access the venue.

Jonathan’s visit was to address the electorates of Kaduna in a bid to gather their votes in next month’s elections.

The Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Goodluck Jonathan/Sambo, Kaduna Chapter, Alhaji Hussaini Jallo, had on Monday promised a minimum of two million supporters for the President.

Though the exact figures are not yet known, the colossal crowd that turned up in and around the stadium is certainly up to or even more than the promised figure.

The fact that Jonathan’s running mate, Vice President Arch. Namadi Sambo and former Kaduna State governor Ahmad Mohammad Makarfi will be on the podium with him soon, will be a huge plus for the president’s campaign in the State.

At any rate, the turnout has proven that rumors about the President being unpopular in Kaduna State are untrue.
