MENS FASHION!!! What To Wear To Standout At An African Traditional Wedding, By Ifeanyi Okafor Jr.

In Africa, weddings are a big deal. They take months of preparations and planning, as everyone wants a perfect wedding ceremony. It also brings family and friends together to celebrate. The major focus is on the couple, but that does not mean the guests should not look their best.

As a wedding guest, the most important thing to keep in mind, is that you aim to look cool and stylish.

However, you do not want to distract attention from the bride, or draw attention for the wrong reasons.

For this post, I am flying the Nigerian fashion flag, and doing justice to this lovely outfit by Obinna Omeruo.

Obinna Omeruo is a Nigerian brand I love, because of the subtle twist they give Nigerian traditional outfits.

I am wearing an otherwise common outfit, popularly known as ‘Senator’. It is called so, because it is a popular style seen on male Nigerian Senators and big political figures in general.

The brand has added a unique detail (as its said, the devil is in the detail), which has transformed the outfit.

The fringe detail on the chest and back area is simply amazing. The fabric is made from integrated poly cotton which makes it comfortable, so it can be worn all year round.

It is perfect for a wedding guest who plans to make a fashion statement, in a simple yet impactful way.

I have styled this outfit with a pair of black loafers with gold studs, and a black hat. I have used gold accessories as it complements the outfit. Remember, you cannot use lace up shoes when wearing traditional outfits. Monk straps, velvet slippers or smart loafers, are acceptable.

It is also important for your outfit to be properly tailored and fit like a glove.

I hope you love the attire! Let me know what you think!
