Mu’azu resigns as PDP chairman

Reports have emerged that the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adamu Mu’azu has finally resigned.

Members of the party, including Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and his Niger State counterpart Babangida Aliyu, have recently made several calls for Mu’azu’s resignation.

His resignation took effect immediately.

It was also gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan asked the chairman of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Anthony Anenih to resign his office as chairman.

It is still unknown if Anenih has accepted to resign or not.

There were initial uncertainties as to the resignation of the chairman, but it is believed that Mu’azu’s resignation letter has been received.
