Nigerian Air Force set for revamp in February 2015 – Chief of Air Staff

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, at an end-of-the-year get together and award night for the Nigerian Air Force held on Saturday in Abuja, affirmed that there will be major changes in the military authority with the sole aim of combating insurgency to extinction in Nigeria.

He pointed out that vital areas of the Air Force will be given high preference in the upcoming reforms, including the air surveillance department, the armament department, the air tactical transportation unit or strategic airlifting, and effective utilization of the manpower resources of the service, adding that by February 2015 when the reforms are in place, the mission statement of the NAF would be better.

Amosu noted that an Air Force without equipment is not different from a flying club, for this reason, there will be a higher emphasis on the armament unit and other critical operations units of the Air Force.

He further encouraged every member of the Air Force to carry their heads high in pride as, according to him, they have the best AOCs and commanders in the service.
