Nigerian Police set to train personnel ahead of February Polls

The Nigerian Police has recently revealed that the Force is training officers for the Upcoming 2015 general elections.

The training theme tagged “Securing the 2015 General Elections”, was expected to commence on January 9 through January 15 at the Force Headquarters.

This was made known through a publication on the Police Facebook page, which affirmed that the training was developed in order to prepare Police Officers for the general elections.

According to the post, the exercise will cover courses like Adult Learning Principles, Facilitation Skills, Decision Making, Use of Force, and Police and Election Security.

Other Courses they are to undertake include: Code of Conduct, Standard Operations Guidelines and Scenario Based activities.

The Facebook post stated that the exercise was very necessary, because of the role the Nigerian Police Force was expected to play in the 2015 elections, coming up on February 14, for Presidential and National Assembly; February 28 for Gubernatorial and House of Representatives members.
