Nigerian Soldiers Bombard Insurgents as they Re-group

The Nigerian troops, provoked by the antics of terrorists in the Northeast, on Wednesday, continued to rain blows on the hideouts and escape routes of the Boko Haram insurgents aitonline is reporting.

The bombs meant for suicide operations by the terrorists were destroyed by some Nigerian troops in Konduga, Borno State.

​Security sources said some local residents sighted the boys and alerted security agents who took proactive steps to attack the boys before their plans were hatched.

In the early hours of yesterday, the Nigerian military in Konduga, Borno State, destroyed a vehicle laden with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) meant for suicide bombing operation by the terrorists.

PRNigeria, a public relations organisation for Nigeria security agencies gathered that while an undisclosed number of terrorists were killed, no military personnel or civilian was affected in yesterday’s incident.

This is the latest incident in a series of recent attempts being made by terrorists to make incursions into the town and other surrounding communities. Kodunga is 30 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

“What we need from Nigerians is their supports, their encouragements and prayers to enable us overcome this insanity from unrepentant terrorists!” a top military source who cannot be named because he is not authorized to speak, is quoted to have said.​
