No retreating from Sambisa, media reports, false – Olukolade

The Nigerian Military has debunked allegations that its troops were retreating from the Sambisa forest, the last known hideout of the Boko Haram insurgent group.

The Nigerian Defence Spokesperson, Major General Chris Olukolade, took to twitter about an hour ago to dispel the rumours and media reports asserting such.

Gen. Olukolade said the reports were false and misleading.

Speaking on the thirty-one Generals that were pulled from Service yesterday, Olukolade clarified that the exercise was in line with Military tradition.

On Friday, the Nigerian Army in a gale of retirements pulled out 31 Generals from Service and also called for the archiving of the experiences gathered in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram in the North East.
