Obasanjo’s exit has no effect on elections – Anenih

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, on Monday said the elders of the party had lost nothing from Olusegun Obasanjo’s exit from the party.

Anenih made this assertion after news broke out that Obasanjo had publicly torn his PDP membership card in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, an indication that he had finally left the party.

Anenih stressed that the PDP leaders would not miss Obasanjo, adding that he is a Nigerian and he has the right to leave and join any political party he wishes to join.

The former President has been critical of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, but had refused to say whether he would remain with the party or not.

Meanwhile, reports confirm that the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP has been expelled by the Ogun State chapter of the Party.
