Police arrest 24 over attack on Jonathan’s convoy in Kastina

The Nigerian Police Force, Kastina state, has arrested 24 persons in connection to the attack on President Goodluck’s convoy after the PDP’s Presidential campaign in Kastina on Tuesday.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Bala Zamasenchi, told newsmen in Kastina yesterday that daggers and matchetes were recovered from the suspects.

He said the culprits would be investigated and brought to book stressing that “anybody behind the act will face the wrath of the law.”

Bala warned politicians against violence in campaigning for elections, adding that parents should also monitor and warn their children, as some children were being used to incite disturbance and violence on the streets during campaigns.

He said “police would henceforth arrest such children and parents will be made to take their place when they come to look for their children.”
