How We Spent Looted Funds – EFCC Finally Surrenders

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, an arm directly reporting to President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed how recovered looted funds have so far been managed.

According to the anti-graft agency, all looted funds recovered by it, are paid into the consolidated revenue account of the Federal Government.

‎The ‎Commission, made this known via its Twitter handle, @officialefcc,  on Wednesday, November 9, in response to a question from one of its followers.‎

‎@asantoo11a in a tweet to the Commission, ‎had asked; “When are we sharing our recovered looted money’’.‎

In reaction, the anti-graft agency twitted, “Recovered funds are paid into the consolidated ‎revenue account of the Federal Government.’’ ‎

‎The ‎development is coming at a time, when so many well meaning Nigerians have asked President Buhari and his Economic Team, to explain to Nigerians, what he did with the numerous recovered loots, most especially at a time he is planning to borrow over N9 trillion.

Asked of those who defrauded the nation, and ran outside the shores of the country for protection, the agency noted that there was no hiding place for looters.

It said, “Our network of partners include the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), and other International Law Enforcement Agencies.

“Perpetrators cannot hide forever. Send a petition,” it said in response to an enquiry by one Biyi Soremekun.
