UDATE: Death toll rises in Buhari’s estate bomb blast

Sixteen people have been confirmed dead in the multiple explosions that took place at the Buhari’s housing estate in Damaturu, leaving 10 others injured.

The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, Musa Idi, confirmed this to journalists in Damaturu, adding that the explosions took place around Ministry of Housing quarters and Buhari Housing Estate in Damaturu.

Those who sustained injuries have been taken to the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Today’s blasts is coming few weeks after a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a major motor park in Damaturu where 6 lives were claimed, leaving 43 injured.

Musa Idi also confirmed that there were three explosions, which took place simultaneously.

A bomb has exploded at Buhari’s housing estate in Damaturu, Yobe state leaving 16 people dead.

The blast occurred early Wednesday as Boko Haram insurgents have been killing thousands of people and displaced millions since it started in 2009.
