UPDATE: Abuja blast, death toll continues to rise

Boko haram insurgents discharged several bombs the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, yesterday, October 2, resulting to the death of at least 20 persons and left over 50 injured.

It was gathered that the bombers targeted the Kuje Evening Market, the police station in Kuje, and the ever busy road at Nyanya almost simultaneously in what seemed a well coordinated attack.

Nyanya and Kuje are fully parts and parcel of the FCT and densely populated. Residents of these areas shuttle to the main town on a daily basis for various reasons.

A Kuje resident who was at the scene of the incident disclosed to POST NIGERIA:

“As soon as I passed through the market gate, the bomb exploded and I fell from the bike with my bike man.

“It was horrifying, human parts flying everywhere I even saw someone’s hand fly up.”

Amnesty International, AI, in a recent report, stated that over 1,600 persons have been killed by insurgents since January.
