VERY SAD!!! The Whereabouts Of Missing Olisa Metuh, Revealed, As One Of The Most Popular Television Stations In Nigeria Set To Receive Powerful Court Order

The Counsel to the former Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh, has on Tuesday, explained the incident surrounding the collapse of his client in court.

Emeka Etiaba, on Tuesday, stated that Metuh was making his way to the dock when the Judge said he can find any corner to sit down, and he cannot tell whether while trying to make his way back to a seat or towards the dock, that he missed his step and fell.

“What I heard was a fall”, he said.

“I predicated my application to withdraw, in the context of what happened yesterday. I said that I cannot in good conscience be part of the trial, when my client is lying down on the floor, I did not know whether he was alive or dead”, he said.

Etiaba also opposed the suggestion of misconduct against Metuh, and the comment by Justice Okon Abang that the defendant has not accepted to enter the dock on five occasions, since March 14.

He disclosed that in the course of the trial, Metuh has entered the dock at least 45 other times. He said Metuh’s absence in the proceeding on Tuesday, was because he is on admission in a Hospital, stressing that he was conveyed there by the staff of the medical unit of the court, following his fall, on Monday.

Meanwhile, the court is preparing to deliver a ruling to direct Channels Television’s Sunrise Programme for Tuesday, May 22, to produce the video recording of the programme.

The application was made by Prosecution Counsel, Sylvanus Tahir, who accused one of the Defence Counsel in the matter, Ben Chuks Nwosu, of appearing on the programme to speak on the matter before the court.

He revealed that the action violates Section 33 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which prevents Lawyers from making extrajudicial statements on matters pending before the court.

However, Etiaba asked the court to decline the application. He informed the court that he viewed the said programme, adding that, the EFCC was represented by one of its Prosecutors, Johnson Ojogbane, who declared that the anti-graft Agency, “wants to conclude the matter (Metuh) so quickly, so that it will serve as a reference point in the fight against corruption.”
