WAR OF POWER!!! Saraki, Dino Melaye, Strategize For 2019, Visit IBB For Endorsement, Set To Take Over Aso Rock From Buhari

With his eyes clearly set on the 2019 Presidency, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday, visited former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, at his home in Minna, the Niger State capital.

This is widely believed to be part of Saraki’s consultations with prominent citizens of the country, ahead of 2019.

Daily Trust reports that some of those who went on the journey with the Senate President include; Governor  Umar Ganduje of Kano, and Senator Dino Melaye.

At the time of this report, details of their discussion had not been revealed. Saraki has also not officially reacted.

However, sources privy to the meeting, said part of what was discussed centred on the 2019 general elections.

Saraki is touted to have his eyes fixed on the Presidency. Political Analysts, claim that is his ultimate goal.

If he truly declares interest anytime soon, it could mean that Buhari would have a lot of Northern figures to contend with, during the election.

Reacting to the development, a source close to the Senate President said: “As for whether Dr Saraki would want to be President of Nigeria after Buhari steps down in 2019, we are not yet sure, but he’s more likely to be interested in running, if Buhari will not go for a second term.

“In Nigerian politics, people aspire for higher positions, and for a person who has been a 2 term Governor, and now a Senate President, which makes him the number 3 citizen of the country, the only other fitting position would be President of Nigeria.’’

“Sure, Saraki would not want to run against Buhari, if the 73 year old retired General, musters enough strength to run again in 2019, but if he steps down or is unable to continue, names like Bukola Saraki, Rochas Okorocha, Fashola, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, and Atiku Abubakar, would be among the prominent candidates to be presented on the platform of the APC during the primaries.
