Write your Will and prepare for your Obituary – Wike to Amaechi, APC, INEC

The fight for political dominance between the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has taken a new dimension as both political heavyweights have decided to open up on their secret deals.

Governor Wike on Tuesday, March 15, during a political rally in Rivers state confessed that he personally ‘rigged’ the 2011 governorship election that led to Amaechi’s emergence as governor of the state.

Wike made this shocking revelation, during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers East Senatorial District Rally in Elele, boasting that he was the master of election rigger, adding that Amaechi cannot outdo him in the upcoming national assembly and state assembly re-run elections.

Wike warned officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to desist from forming alliance with the All Progressives Congress, APC, to rig the forthcoming polls.

“I want Amaechi, APC and INEC to listen to me. I got reliable information that some INEC officials have been commissioned to swap result sheets during the collation of the result.

“But my advice for them is that they should write their will and prepare for their obituary.

“I am the one that did (rig) election for Amaechi. We know all the tactics of election rigging. I am not a small boy. I personally made Amaechi governor. So we are the master in the game.

“I am now sounding a note of warning that nobody who wants to rig PDP out of Rivers State will meet his death,” Wike said.

He further stated, that the APC with all their military apparatus would get a shock of their life.

The Chairman of the PDP and his Deputy, Modu Sherrif and Uche Secondus also spoke to the mammoth crowd urging them to vote for PDP.

On March 19, 2016, the people of Rivers State will go back to the polls in the three senatorial districts of the state, to participate in a re-run for National and State House of Assembly elections as ordered by the State Election Petitions Tribunal and later re-affirmed by the Court of Appeal.

Most candidates of the APC who participated in the March 28, 2015 National Assembly and the April 11, 2015 State House of Assembly elections, had approached the Election Tribunals, which sat in Abuja, insisting that elections did not hold in their various constituencies in the state.

However, the PDP candidates that are campaigning ahead of the elections are; Senator George Thompson Sekibo of Rivers East Senatorial District, as well as Hon. Ken Chikere and Hon. Blessing Charles Nsiegbe of Port Harcourt I and Port Harcourt II Federal Constituencies.

Also, candidates in the APC include; Senator Magnus Ngei Abe of Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Andrew Igbonule Uchendu of Rivers East Senatorial District, Hon. Barry Mpigi of Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency and Dr. Dawari George of Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency.

Leaders and candidates of the two political parties have been attacking each other verbally as a way of convincing the electorate that the candidates of their political parties are better than others.

Both sides believe that the other side is plotting on how to rig the re-run elections either with security operatives or armed militant youths.
